Who We Are
Serving Grant County since 1938
We are a public electric utility serving more than 40,000 customers in Grant County. We own and operate the Priest Rapids Project on the Columbia River in Central Washington. The Priest Rapids Project, comprising Priest Rapids and Wanapum dams, has the capacity to produce more than 2,000 megawatts of clean, renewable and reliable electricity.
For the people of Grant County
Grant County is a rural, predominantly agricultural region. Local ownership and control of power resources has helped the county grow and prosper. Our low-cost power has allowed the county to attract new businesses and create more jobs to help drive our regional and state economies.
As a customer, you have a say in policy, much like the stockholder of a private corporation. We have a five-member board of commissioners made up of local citizens elected on a nonpartisan basis by the people of Grant County. Our commissioners set policy, review operations and approve budget expenditures.
