Grant PUD’s customer base continues to grow and we need to expand our services to meet their power needs. One of the ways we’re preparing to power the future is by purchasing property as a potential site for power generating plant and/or power delivery grid components (such as power storage, switchyards, substations, and transmission equipment.)

960 ACRES

  • Four parcels of land near the intersection of roads W & 16 NW
  • Mixture of dryland grain farm ground & sagebrush.

COST

Grant PUD paid $1.056 million for the land in November 2024.

WATER RIGHTS

Grant PUD would have to acquire new water rights for any development on the land requiring a well.

NEAREST TOWN

  • Marlin has a population of about 50
  • Approximately six miles from the property

What's Next?

Evaluation State

Grant PUD's Energy Supply Management Team is working to determine the best use of the property as a resource for its power system.

Public Process

Grant PUD will continue a dialogue with the public including neighbors and other stakeholders during the planning and permitting process for any future development of the property.

Possible Development

Development of the property would happen once design, permitting, and approvals are complete.
