Crescent Bar Recreation Area: On Island

Overview: This recreation area has access to a public campground, boat launch, golf course and day use areas. The sandy beaches are popular along the shoreline. There are also commercial dining and shopping opportunities. The future of this site is pending litigation.

Wanapum Dam Lower Boat Launch

Overview: This popular site currently offers a one lane launch to the Priest Rapids pool. The current launch can accommodate small to medium recreational boats. Upgrades to this area will allow Grant PUD to remain compliant with our FERC license to operate Priest Rapids and Wanapum dams.

Wanapum Dam Turbine and Generator Replacement Project

Wanapum Dam Turbine

Overview: The project began with design work in 1993, continued with testing into 2002 and installation of the first of 10 new turbines in 2004. The task of replacing each unit at the dam has been ongoing and will end when the 10th unit is complete in 2020.
