Our Goal

Grant PUD's social media channels are intended to provide timely information about our services, programs, projects, outages, and community involvement, while creating opportunities for meaningful conversation with the people we serve. We welcome questions, feedback, and diverse perspectives related to our work and encourage respectful dialogue that helps inform, educate, and connect our community.

We are committed to fostering an online environment where customers and community members can engage constructively, share ideas, and learn more about Grant PUD. While we encourage open discussion, we also strive to keep our social media channels safe, respectful, and focused on topics relevant to Grant PUD's mission and services.

Comments We Welcome:

  • Respectful discussion and opinions on our posts.
  • Outage questions after the outage has been reported to Grant PUD by calling 1-800-216-5226. To report an outage, please call that number rather than using social media.
  • Questions and feedback on our services, programs, and general communications.
  • Comments We May Remove

To keep this a safe, respectful and useful forum for our community, Grant PUD reserves the right to remove comments, and when appropriate block repeat violators from commenting when content includes:

  • Profanity or obscene language.
  • Content containing discriminatory slurs or hateful language directed at protected groups.
  • Harassment or bullying, including comments that target or threaten Grant PUD staff, other commenters, or members of the public.
  • Threats of violence or content that promotes illegal activity.
  • False, defamatory, or libelous statements about individuals, organizations, or businesses.
  • Spam, solicitations, or advertising unrelated to Grant PUD.
  • Personal, private, or confidential information about a customer, employee, or other individual (such as account number, address, or phone numbers) posted publicly.
  • Impersonation of Grant PUD, its staff, or another person.
  • Copyright or trademark infringing material.
  • Duplicate or repetitive comments posted to disrupt the conversation.
  • False or misleading information that could threaten public safety.

We apply these standards consistently and do not remove comments simply because they disagree with or are critical of Grant PUD.

Political Content

Because Grant PUD is a public agency, its social media platforms may not be used to support or oppose any candidate for public office, political party, or ballot measure. Comments whose primary purpose is campaign advocacy may be removed in accordance with Washington law governing the use of public agency resources.

A few other important notes:

  • Comments that are not from the Grant PUD official account reflect the views of their authors. We do not endorse opinions, links, or claims posted by others.
  • Official responses will come only from verified Grant PUD accounts or identified staff.
