Our electrical service crews have been working alternating weeks to reduce their potential for exposure to Coronavirus.
This necessary precaution is intended to protect the health of highly trained electrical workers, so they are available to respond to outages, make needed repairs, and still address customer service requests. Power restoration remains our highest priority. We are also prioritizing requests for new service and modifications based on their impact to essential services.
Going to half crews has resulted in delays for some customers. We understand this is frustrating. But as the threat of Coronavirus grows in our county, we must do everything in our power to keep crew members healthy, so we can continue to deliver power to all customers.
We remind customers requesting service work to secure all required permits and inspections. (Emergency reconnects are allowed before an L&I inspection, but only when work is completed by a licensed electrician and is accompanied with appropriate permits. A follow-up L&I inspection is still required as soon as possible.)
