Grant PUD's COVID-19 Response

As all of us at Grant PUD work through our response to COVID-19 we want to assure customers that our teams continue their daily activities of providing service and support to those throughout Grant County. 

As a precautionary measure for the safety of customers and employees, we have restricted public access to all of Grant PUD facilities until further notice. However, we remain open for business and we are dedicated to continuing to generate and deliver power and maintaining our high-speed fiber internet network for our customers. 

Our personnel will continue responding to outages and emergencies anytime of day. If you have disruption in power service, simply call our outage number at 800-216-5226

We are grateful for the patience and understanding shown by our customers as we have taken these precautionary measures to protect our mission-critical functions.

Sign up for an ePay account to pay your bills online via credit/debit card or automatic withdrawal from your checking or savings account. Customers also have the option to make a one-time online payment. 


By Phone 

Call 509-766-2505 during normal business hours to pay your bill. You can either use our automated pay-by-phone feature or speak with a customer service representative. Please be sure to have the following items ready when calling: 

• Your Grant PUD account number 

• Payment method and details 

• Amount you would like to pay

Drop Box ​ 

Drop your payment by check or money order, in the envelope that came with your bill. No cash payments, please. The Moses Lake, Quincy and Royal City offices have drop boxes attached to their buildings. Ephrata has a stand-alone drop box in the parking lot.

*During this time it may take longer than usual to process payments received via drop box.


Please note 

If you are having trouble paying your power bill during these unprecedented times, the best thing to do is to give us a call and discuss the options we have in place to help you during this time. Contact a customer service representative by calling 509-766-2505 during normal business hours.

We are also doing the following for our core residential, business and irrigation customers:

  • Waiving late payments
  • Halting disconnects for non-payments
  • Making payment arrangements 

This applies to those customers part of rate schedule 1, 2, 3, or 7.

We also have other local agencies we can direct residential customers to that may be able to provide additional help.


Frequently asked questions

Until further notice all of our offices and all facilities are closed to public access. This includes the Wanapum Heritage Center and the Grant PUD visitors center.

If you are having difficulties paying your power bill, please call our customer service line 509-766-2505. They can discuss modified payment plans, possible payment assistance through Share-the-Warmth program, or referrals to other payment assistance programs in the county. Read more....

Update 5/7/2020:

Grant PUD is pleased to announce that our boat launches and most recreation areas will open at noon, May 8. The following restrictions apply for the safety of our visitors and employees:

  • At Crescent Bar: Only the boat launches and boat-launch parking lots will open. The rest of the amenities in this recreation area have potential to attract large groups of people, making it extremely difficult to maintain safe social distancing. Until further notice, the campground, beaches, golf course, trail, marina and fuel service will remain closed. We'll continue to assess risk levels and adjust accordingly.
  • At every other Grant PUD recreation area: Only day-use amenities, including boat launches, will reopen. Campgrounds will remain closed.
  • Restrooms: Only a minimal number of restrooms will be open at our recreation sites.
  • Centers: The Wanapum Heritage Center and Wanapum Dam Visitors Center will remain closed until further notice.


We thank everyone for your patience as we work together to safely reopen our recreation facilities.

Our top priorities are the safe and the reliable operations of our mission-critical services, including electricity and fiber-optics communications. Without these, all our customers and the greater region would suffer severe hardship. Our analysis over the last two weeks concluded that we have the equipment and supplies necessary to reopen the above amenities without jeopardizing these mission-critical services.

While out enjoying Grant PUD's recreation areas, please practice the following rules from local, state and federal health agencies to reduce risk to public health, and demonstrate that we can keep our recreation facilities open:

  • Adhere to the governor's order to recreate close to home.
  • Please be respectful to employees at our recreation sites. They are there to help keep you safe and our recreation amenities functioning.
  • Maintain at least six feet between yourselves and those outside of your immediate household.
  • Follow posted information and respect areas that remain closed.
  • Bring your own water, soap and hand sanitizer with you and wash your hands often.
  • Take your garbage with you when leaving a recreation area.
  • Stay home if you're not feeling well.


With the cooperation of the public adhering to these rules, we hope to keep amenities open. We will be monitoring the situation and will take appropriate actions as needed to protect public health.

5/1/2020 - Grant PUD is evaluating when it can reopen its recreation sites, which were closed in March because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Grant PUD operates 20 recreation sites on the Columbia River. During the pandemic, the utility is placing the highest priority on keeping its mission critical systems functioning. These systems include safely operating our dams to provide power generation, manage river flows and accommodate fish passage, as well as delivering power to our customers, and operating our fiber optic network.

Given the importance of these systems to the public, Grant PUD will consider the impacts of opening its recreation sites on mission-critical resources and employee and public health before it makes the decision to reopen.

No timeline has yet been set for reopening the recreation sites, but once more information is known, the utility will provide notification through its regular communication channels, including local media, its Facebook page and the website. Read more...

Grant PUD está evaluando cuándo puede reabrir sus sitios de recreación, que se cerraron en marzo debido a la pandemia de Coronavirus (COVID-19).
